Batik fabrics are exquisite explosions of color and line, but traditional batik methods are complicated and time-consuming. Here is an easy technique that uses common arts supplies to quickly turn plain fabric into colorful panels suitable for quilts, clothing, and more.
Materials: One or more pieces of white or light colored fabric (18x22", cotton or cotton blend, pre-washed and dried), a bottle of elmer's blue gel glue. If you have fabric or acrylic paints and textile medium or dye-na-flo paints, lumiere paints, pigment powders (such as Pearl-Ex), stamps and stamp pads, bring those as well.
