The 1000 sq. ft. gallery at the Allied Arts Center displays eight major art exhibits each year that encourage artful thought and discussion in the Yakima Valley. Annually, almost 200 artists are involved, and thousands of patrons enjoy their creations. One of the most engaging exhibits, the annual Juried Art Exhibit, has been a destination for emerging and recognized artists since 1967. Peggy Lewis founded the gallery in 1965 and was its first chairwoman.

Temptation: A Mixed Media Invitational
April 10 to May 25, 2008

This April, local artists will express “temptation” through image at the Peggy Lewis Gallery. Temptation is to entice to do wrong by promise of pleasure or gain; to provoke; to risk the dangers of. Is temptation positive or negative? How does it impact us? Would we want to live without it? Could we? Don’t miss this collection of work by local artists invited to respond to this tempting theme.

Opening reception for Temptation: a Mixed Media Invitational will be held on April 10, 2008, from 5:30-7:30pm in the Peggy Lewis Gallery (located in the Allied Arts Center, 5000 W. Lincoln Ave. Yakima, WA 98908). The exhibit will display work from over 30 area artists that will explore the theme “temptation” and its enticing, provoking nature, through art. The reception will feature wines by Masset Winery, a gallery sponsor.

Purchasing Art

Work may be held with a 25% down payment and can be picked up at the end of the exhibition. Visa & Mastercard are acceptable.Inquire about layaway.
